Malaysia will be one of the biggest things within Hess because of the huge projects that we’re embarking on in North Malay Basin. A lot of our young engineers are a product of what we actually do in terms of training.

The mentoring program within Hess is very crucial. The guidance should come from someone senior.

I’ve mentored some of the very young engineers. And today I’m very proud to say that they’re leading projects. And it’s a proud moment for me.

Hess Foundation Program is basically is a two-years program, so we need to rotate into a different department. Every rotation I have a mentor. Hess is one of the good operators in Malaysia.  I love the work environment.

This is a very talented young guy. And making that change in someone’s life, it makes everything worthwhile. Especially when you get good candidates like Iskandar and Azreen.

The sheer small size of Hess allows us to be very close to each other.

It’s like a family.

Very close. You can basically stand up and say “Hey, what are you doing?” Those sort of things, it is very close-knitted.

It’s a melting pot. I mean you see people from all sorts of cultures, so many races. Even within Malaysians.

I think that’s a good thing because everyone’s different.

It brings new ideas to the table. Hess truly believes in growing your own timber. So you’re essentially growing people who will be adding value to the organization, by yourselves. And I think that’s really exciting. So I hope that never changes.
